As the world of fashion design and interior design often mirror each other, I took a look at the latest apparel ideas coming out of “Fashion Week” and put together some trends to watch.
Trend #1: Leather. Yes, it’s coming back in apparel and it’s really never left “fashionable” homes. From shagreen (sharkskin) to buttery soft leathers, and even leather floors, it’s a true classic that gets tweaked from season to season.
Trend #2: Transparency and Lace. I’m seeing a lot of lacy apparel, and some fabulous fabrics for your home that give you a lacy feel without feeling like you’ve put up grandmas curtains.
Trend #3: Textures that are bold and bulky. Like a great cable-knit sweater!
Trend # 4: Prints: Hi-tech and urban prints. Definitely not the “Laura Ashley” look!
